York County Natural Gas Authority Wins Gold with FuturaGIS
York County Natural Gas Authority in Rock Hill, SC chooses Futura GIS.
Earlier this year York County Natural Gas Authority (YCNGA) was awarded a silver designation from the American Public Gas Association for demonstrating excellence in the industry. The System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) award is based on four operational areas: worker safety, workforce development, system integrity and system improvement. This prestigious recognition was given to only nine natural gas providers in the country. Now, York County Natural Gas Authority doubles its win with a gold, Esri Gold that is, by choosing FuturaGIS Mapping and Asset Tracker. An Esri Gold partner, Futura offers innovative mapping solutions to meet the emerging needs of the natural gas industry. The dynamic GIS solution is a user friendly mapping, asset and data management tool to aid in revolutionizing the engineering workflow in every aspect. Synchronicity will stream thru every department of the Authority allowing system wide communication through a single point of data entry.
“The Futura partnership, along with the underlying Esri technology, will allow us to better visualize data across departments and better serve the customers’ needs in a shorter amount of time. Also, getting all of the existing data out of scattered legacy systems will better equip us to take advantage of new technologies as they become available. All of this translates into increased efficiency which will reduce operational costs. We are a non-profit so any money we save is transferred to the customers in the form of low energy rates.” says John Turner, Information Technology Director for York County Natural Gas Authority. “Also, being able to have greater visibility into our system will better help us identify problems before they arise and provide more timely notifications when service impacting events do occur.”
The goal of York County Natural Gas Authority is to be a champion to its customers by offering gold medal service. With partners like Futura Systems, YCNGA will cross the finish line way ahead of the competition.
