SEDC Unveils New Name & Brand at 2021 User Conference

Atlanta, GA – August 2, 2021

Futura System’s parent company, Southeastern Data Cooperative, largely known to the utility solutions industry as SEDC, has announced that they have officially changed their name. Going forward the utility software solutions enterprise will do business as the Meridian Cooperative. The decades-old software cooperative unveiled the news during the opening session of their 2021 User Conference, virtually attended by thousands of utility industry professionals.

Explaining the rationale behind the change, Meridian Cooperative CEO RB Sloan remarked “We wanted a tangible way to show our members, customers, and partners that it’s a new era for our company. We’ve renewed our commitments to providing outstanding customer support and delivering innovative solutions. We’ve combined our decades of experience with a modern technology stack to create – quite frankly – the most flexible, progressive solutions available in our industry. We’ve been planning and building toward this for years, and we believe our new brand represents our growth and evolution. We’re excited about the innovative technologies we will be rolling out over the next few years, and we want to invite our users and our industry to grow alongside us.”

Meridian is also the name of the company’s flagship software solution, a modular suite of FIS/CIS tools meant to equip utilities with the capabilities needed to facilitate seamless customer interactions and efficient operations. With the Meridian name also extending to the company and its sub-brands (wholly-owned brands under the Meridian Enterprise include Futura Systems and Arista Information Systems), the new Meridian Cooperative hopes that their users will recognize the fresh revamp of their trusted partner as a sign of progress for the entire industry.
