Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation Updates to Futura
Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation Has Updated to Futura Systems
Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation, located in Red Springs, NC, selected Futura Systems, Inc. for the engineering services of mapping, staking and mobile solutions.
When it came time to update an outdated mapping system, Lumbee River EMC evaluated solutions from multiple vendors and chose Futura Systems, Inc., to meet the current and future needs of the cooperative. According to Jeff Jackson, Director of Information Technology at Lumbee River EMC, “Futura’s solutions are Esri-based, which was a primary consideration for us. We evaluated solutions from multiple vendors, and after carefully considering the functionality provided by each of them, we selected Futura GIS and Staking as the best solution to meet our current and future needs.”
In addition to the core-Esri requirement, another major consideration was integration with the utility’s other software applications. Since Futura provides extensive integration capabilities with many other vendors, the Futura suite became the natural choice. Lumbee River also favored Futura’s staking and editing capabilities, especially the ability to perform powerful mapping edits and to post directly from the field. Empowering field operators to post directly from the field eliminates redundant double entry and allows postings to show on customer accounts in an almost real time setting.
The Futura software also unifies work management from field to office in a real time setting through innovative technology, enabling the cooperative to reduce costs associated with drive time, fuel and the operational overhead of field operations. By choosing FuturaGIS, FuturaStake and FuturaMobile, Lumbee River Electric Membership Corporation has selected a system that will help them continue to grow well into the future.
