POSITION
GIS Conversion Specialist, Futura Systems, Inc. (Atlanta, GA)
Some telecommuting permitted: 2 days at the office, 3 days remote.

DUTIES
Design, develop, and customize an efficient GIS database according to the customer requirement using ArcGIS technologies. Work with Electrical products (GIS, Staking, Flex, and Outage Management Systems) and its data model which will help in migrating client’s existing GIS data into customer’s data model. Understand the customer’s existing electrical network data model and apply matching workflows to migrate it to customer’s data model. Document proprietary utility software and database updates for each client for future reference. Maintain the integrity of the network from the geometric network data. Manage, provide, maintain, and enhance access to hundreds of gigabytes of spatial data as part of the Electrical Enterprise GIS solution as enterprise geodatabase and FileGDB. Review customer data model and recommend on how best to fit legacy data structure into a new data structure and specialized procedure to bring to Customer’s Data model. Analyze, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during the Data migration life cycle using Electrical Conversion tools and ArcGIS geoprocessing tools and understanding Python Scripts. Create a process that enables instant usage of the new Utility Network rules, tracing, connectivity, diagrams, etc. Provide continuity/standards of all existing layers/themes of GIS data to integrate with customer data and GIS systems. Maintain GIS data to support integrations to Milsoft’s Engineering Analysis, Staking, Outage Management, Customer Information Systems, and other critical systems. Perform Asset Management tasks such as Transformer Change-outs, joint use tracking, pole inspection, damage & line inspection and historical tracking of assets etc. Review and assess the GIS data in a small subset of the system and look for data issues that will impact migration and setting up batch checks that are structured and repeatable. Create and administer all database objects, including tables, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures as well as planning periodic backups, recovery, and monitoring procedures of all databases. Provide consultation, management, and assistance for all GIS/spatial data related Electric operations. Manage end-to-end complex data migration, conversion, and data modelling. Participate in quality management reviews as outlined in the Verification and Validation Overview.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent via education and/or experience) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related IT field. Five years of progressive experience in the offered role or similar role involving design, development, and customization of Geographic Information System (GIS). The 5-year required experience may also be counted towards educational equivalency. Advanced working knowledge of electrical operations, ArcGIS, and SQL database management. Some telecommuting permitted: 2 days at the office, 3 days remote.
