Habersham Electric Membership Corporation Taps Futura GIS to Integrate Mapping Tools with Customer Data
North Georgia Co-op to apply geographic analytics to improve services to members
Habersham Electric Membership Corporation, an electric power distribution cooperative serving more than 34,000 members around Clarkesville, Georgia, has selected core Esri ArcGIS-based mapping and analytics software FuturaGIS from Futura Systems.
“With members across six counties in Northeast Georgia, we saw it as a priority to add tools that can improve responsiveness and meet customer needs where they live and work,” said Russell Bentley, GIS coordinator for Habersham EMC. “We selected Futura Systems’ GIS for its seamless integration with our customer billing (BIS) and account software (CIS) from parent company SEDC.”
Another key factor in the utility’s decision to adopt Futura’s mapping suite is the tight integration Futura Systems supports with Habersham’s existing staking software, supplied by Partner Software. Habersham’s field crews wanted the functionality provided by FuturaGIS, but they also wanted to keep the staking software they were familiar with and which served them well. “Futura’s close integration with Partner Staking made all the difference when it came to choosing the mapping software,” according to Bentley. “We’re very happy with how everything works together.”
Futura COO Adam Dinges said, “The full integration of the new GIS makes an ideal partner to the SEDC software Habersham already relies upon. We look forward to helping the co-op unlock additional efficiencies from the combined application of these powerful tools.”
