Futura Systems, Inc., Welcomes Dallas Pool
Many in the utility industry will recognize the name Dallas Pool, and with good reason. Dallas has been in the utility industry since the early 80’s and began working with AM/FM/GIS in the mid-80’s – long before many in the field today were even born. After three decades in the electric and gas utility verticals and nearly 15 years with Esri, Inc., Pool was looking for a new outlet for his experience. Looking to get back to a more grassroots environment, he spent months looking for the right fit for a career change. Enter Futura Systems, Inc.: a fairly young company, established in 2008, making monumental footpaths on mapping solutions for utilities across the states. Futura’s innovative products, employing the Esri ArcGIS foundation, offer much more than GIS and engineering solutions. Pool was impressed with Futura’s unparalleled integration with other software vendors and the Futura suite of tools that allow utilities to connect every department together as one. According to Pool, Futura’s real-time updating and the elimination of double entry “delivers a communications package way beyond any of its predecessors in terms of functionality and reliability.”
Dallas Pool’s extensive experience, coupled with enhancements from Futura’s state of the art product listing, promises to expand both entities to new heights. Pool has the ability to communicate across the aisle and on every level of the utility. He speaks the language from the ground up. When asked why he chose Futura as the next step in his career he explains,
“I like the philosophy – a company that wants to provide top products for the best value to its customers. It is not something we see much anymore. Futura does that.”
On the flip side, Futura has much to gain. According to Adam Dinges, Chief Operating Officer at Futura Systems, Inc., Pool will further strengthen Futura’s offerings to its customers. “Futura consistently aims to increase the level of service and support we offer our customers, and Dallas will help us continue to meet that goal. I know he will bring the same level of professionalism and trusted advice to our customer base that he has to the entire utility community through the years.” Dinges continues, “Dallas will serve as a resource to our existing customers, helping them problem solve using Futura solutions, listening to how we can continue to improve as a software company, and recommending an effective plan of action to help them achieve high levels of success.”
In the rigorous game of GIS, the partnership between Pool and Futura looks to be a winning combination. About Futura Systems, Inc. Futura Systems provides enterprise utility GIS solutions to hundreds of electric membership cooperatives, electric municipal systems, and other utility providers across the United States. As an ESRI Business Partner, Futura Systems excels at employing the ArcGIS foundation to develop mapping, staking and outage management tools that deliver powerful, user-friendly functionality.
